Treatment Techniques

I utilize an integrated eclecticism approach to psychotherapy.  This therapeutic approach uses treatment techniques that come from a variety of different theoretical conceptualizations.  Some of the treatment methods include:

When available, evidenced based treatment techniques are used in order to most effectively treat a wide range of psychological symptoms.

Spirituality is also highly supported and recommended.  This does not mean that client's are expected or encouraged to be "religious" or attend some kind of place of worship.  Rather, spirituality is something that is personal and may look very different based on the person.  Spirituality is difficult to define, but is typically something that helps a person feel more connected to themselves (meaning and purpose in their life), to others, to nature, or the world.  Spirituality can look like taking a walk in nature, journaling, praying, meditating, engaging in a volunteer activity, or any other activity that helps the person to feel a since of "connectedness".  The reason that practicing some type of spirituality is recommended is because research has shown significant benefits to integrating spirituality as a way to improve emotional well being and can have lasting positive outcomes when combined with psychotherapy.
